Heater Unit Add-On Components
1 - Wiring Harness For Heater
• Different versions (for example, with or without connection to Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module (J604) ). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Mark the allocation before disconnecting the connectors (connectors of same shape for different components).
• Secure wiring harness to mounting points provided on housing (using cable ties, or on mounts) so that it does not come into contact with moving components.

3 - Heater Controls ( Heater Control Module (J65) )
• Different versions depending on vehicle equipment (with and without Driver Heated Seat Adjuster (E94) and Front Passenger Heated Seat Adjuster (E95) ). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

5 - Bowden Cable For Temperature Adjustment

6 - Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) (with Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module (J604) )
The electric auxiliary air heater is available in different versions. Diesel vehicles, which were built through November 2006 (running change in production), the auxiliary air heater heating element is controlled by the auxiliary air heater control module. Refer to Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) under "Guided Fault Finding". On diesel vehicles built from November 2006 (running change) have a 3-stage Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) which is controlled by a relay from the engine control module. Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) under "Guided Fault Finding".
• Check the auxiliary air heater control module, perform Guided Fault Finding using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) under "Guided Fault Finding".

7 - Cover For Coolant Pipes and Heater Core
• This illustration shows version for vehicles with Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35).
• Different versions for vehicles with or without auxiliary air heater heating element (opening for auxiliary air heater heating element is sealed by this cover in vehicles without auxiliary air heater heating element). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

10 - Cover and Bracket For Fresh/Recirculated Air Door Motor (V154)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fresh/Recirculation Air Door Motor (V154)/(V113) ] Fresh/Recirculation Air Door Motor (V154)/(V113).
• After installing bracket, check control motor, if it is not installed free of play, eliminate play if necessary with some foam applied to inside of bracket mounting points. Refer to=> [ Fresh/Recirculation Air Door Motor (V154)/(V113) ] Fresh/Recirculation Air Door Motor (V154)/(V113).
11 - Fresh/Recirculating Air Door Motor (V154)

12 - Foam Seal
• Intake housing seal of heater to vehicle.
