Air Distribution Flexible Shaft

Removing

- Remove the glove compartment.

- Bring flexible shaft - C - into position in which lug - D - for shaft is visible in heater (heating & A/C unit) gears - F - by turning rotary switch for air distribution - B -.






- Disengage base plate of heater controls (A/C system controls) from center console. Refer to=> [ Base Plate for Heater and A/C System Controls ] Base Plate For Heater and A/C System Controls.

Bowden cable for temperature door (only present on heater controls) must not be removed.

- Remove flexible shaft - C - from base plate - A -. Refer to=> [ Base Plate for Heater and A/C System Controls ] Base Plate For Heater and A/C System Controls.

- Using a small screwdriver, carefully lift lug - D - in mount - E - and pull flexible shaft out of mount in heater (heating & A/C unit) gearing.

Installing

A set of gears is installed in base plate for heater / A/C - A - controls and in heater / in heating & A/C unit. Flexible shaft - B - rotates twice for one rotation of air distribution rotary button.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order while noting the following:

- Since door positions are not visible with instrument panel installed, therefore pay attention to procedures for connecting flexible shaft to base plate. Refer to=> [ Base Plate for Heater and A/C System Controls ] Base Plate For Heater and A/C System Controls.
