Heater Unit
Heater Unit
- Remove the heater. Refer to => [ Heater Unit ] Heater Unit.
- Remove add-on components from heater. Refer to=> [ Heater Unit Add-On Components ] Heater Unit Add-On Components.
1 - Air Distribution Housing For Heater
• Do not disassemble further.
• In vehicles without auxiliary air heater heating element (Z35) , the cover for heater core seals the opening for auxiliary air heater heating element.
• If necessary, coat bearing areas and guides of temperature doors thinly with grease (e.g. with G 052 745 A3 )
• Beginning November 2007, a heater air distribution housing with a door in the air outlet to the defroster vents in the instrument panel without a side cut-out is gradually being installed. On vehicles not equipped with A/C (just heating) or on vehicles equipped with a manual climate control system, this change has no impact on the heater control or on the manual A/C system (the door is operated by the heater controls and/or the manual A/C). 3 - Air Guide Channel To Left Footwell Vent
• Heater version.
4 - Heat Core For Heater Unit
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Heater Core ] Heater Core.
5 - Sealing Ring
• Replacing.
• Coat thinly with coolant and insert on proper side. Refer to=> [ Heater Core ] Heater Core.
6 - Clip
• Replacing.
• Ensure it is seated correctly.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Heater Core ] Heater Core.
7 - Screw
• Tightening specification 2.5 Nm
8 - Coolant Pipes
• Disconnect and connect from heater core. Refer to=> [ Heater Core ] Heater Core.
9 - Foam Spacer
• Installed between grommet and heater.
10 - Grommet
• Insert into the bulkhead before installing the heater, refer to => [ Heater Unit ] Heater Unit.
• Installing, refer to=> [ Heater Unit ] Heater Unit.
11 - Air Guide Channel
• Disassembling and assembling, refer to=> [ Air Guide Channel ] Overhaul.
12 - Dust and Pollen Filter
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Service and Repair.
• Follow the replacement intervals.
• As a replacement part, the dust and pollen filter is available in different versions (with and without activated charcoal element). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

13 - Cover For Dust and Pollen Filter
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Service and Repair.
14 - Air Guide Channel To Right Footwell Vent
• Heater version.
15 - Plug
• Installed only in vehicles without air duct to vent in rear center console (vent is not installed at this time, introduction not yet finalized).
