Coolant Hose Connection Diagram






1 Radiator

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Radiator ] Radiator.

Replace the coolant after replacing.

2 Coolant Recirculation Pump (V50)

The direction of coolant flow in the after-run operation is opposite the illustrated direction of flow.

The functions can be checked with Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM). Refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester.

3 Bypass Thermostat

Not available in the US/Canadian market.

4 Coolant Thermostat Housing with Coolant Thermostat

Coolant thermostat checking, Refer to "Function and Component Selection" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.

5 Coolant Pump

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] Service and Repair.

6 Cylinder Head/Cylinder Block

Replace the coolant after replacing.

7 Turbocharger

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Turbocharger ] Turbocharger.

8 Expansion Tank

Make sure when replacing the expansion tank and for maintenance work that there is always a silicate cartridge in the expansion tank, refer to the Parts Catalog. The silicate cartridge must not be removed.

With the sealing cap.

Perform a leak test on the cooling system using the cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274 B) and adapter (V.A.G 1274/8).

9 Heater Core

Replace the coolant after replacing.

10 Hose

Not available.

Only with a automatic transmission.

11 Transmission Oil Cooler

Not available.

Only with a automatic transmission.

12 Bypass Thermostat

Not available.

Only with a automatic transmission.

15 Intake Manifold
