Clutch Hydraulic System: Description and Operation






Clutch Hydraulics Overview

Obtain the anti-theft code for the radio before disconnecting the battery.

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable.

Connect the battery and follow the procedure to be performed after connecting the battery.

Lubricate all bearing areas and contact surfaces.

Grease allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog.






1 Brake Fluid Reservoir

2 Seal

For the plastic supply hose.

The seals must be inside the supply hose.

3 Supply Hose

To the brake fluid reservoir.

Plastic, with additional seals - item 2 -.

4 Clutch Master Cylinder

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Master Cylinder ] Service and Repair.

5 Clip

To remove and install the hose/line assembly or pipe, pull the clip all the way out.

On some clutch master cylinders, it is pulled out to the side.

6 Seal/O-ring

Install on the line connection.

Install using brake fluid

Seal/O-ring version, refer to => [ Seal/O-ring for the hose/line assembly or pipe ].

Allocation. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

7 Mounting

To remove and install, disconnect the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.

8 Clutch Pedal

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.

9 Nut

25 Nm

Always replace.

Self-locking.

Quantity: 3

Secures the mounting bracket to the bulkhead.

10 Hose/Line Assembly

Allocation. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

In order to remove, the battery and battery tray need to be removed.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Hydraulic Hose/Line or Pipe ] Service and Repair.

11 Bracket

For the hose/line assembly - item 10 -.

Attached to the body.

Covered by the assembly mounting.

Bracket differentiation, refer to => [ Bracket Differentiation ].

12 Pipe

Allocation. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

In order to remove, the battery and battery tray need to be removed.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Hydraulic Hose/Line or Pipe ] Service and Repair.

13 Bracket

For the pipe - item 12 -.

Attached to the body.

Covered by the assembly mounting.

Bracket differentiation, refer to => [ Bracket Differentiation ].

14 Seal/O-ring

Install on the line connection.

Install using brake fluid.

Seal/O-ring version, refer to => [ Seal/O-ring for the hose/line assembly or pipe ].

Allocation. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

15 Breather Assembly

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Breather Assembly ] Removal and Replacement.

16 Clip

To remove and install the hose/line assembly or pipe and the breather assembly, pull the clip all the way out.

17 Valve

Hydraulic system bleeding. Refer to => [ Hydraulic System, Bleeding ] Procedures.

18 Cap

19 Clutch Slave Cylinder

The gasket can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Service and Repair.

20 Transmission

Seal/O-ring for the hose/line assembly or pipe










The seal/O-ring must be installed in the groove - arrows 1 and 3 -.
