Sealing Flange Overview
1 Bolt
• 90 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
• Always replace.
• Do not lubricate.
• Use the counter support (3415) to loosen and tighten.
2 Crankshaft Toothed Belt Gear
• There must be no oil on the contact surfaces between the toothed belt gear and crankshaft.
• Only possible to install in one position.
3 Bolt
• 15 Nm
4 Seal
• Do not lubricate or grease the sealing lip on the seal.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair.
5 Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side
• Must be seated on the alignment pins.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side ] Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side.
• To remove and install, remove the oil pan.
6 Cylinder Block
• Crankshaft overview. Refer to => [ Crankshaft Overview ] Service and Repair.
• Piston and connecting rod overview. Refer to => [ Piston and Connecting Rod Overview ] Service and Repair.
7 Bolt
• 60 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
• Always replace.
8 Flywheel
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Flywheel ] Service and Repair.
9 Intermediate Plate
• Must be located on the alignment sleeves.
• Be careful not to damage or bend the plate when installing it.
10 Sealing Flange with Seal
• Always replace as a complete unit.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange and Seal, Transmission Side ] Service and Repair.
11 Disc (Diamond Coated)
• Always replace.
