Flywheel: Service and Repair

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Flywheel Retainer (3067)

Removing


The dual mass flywheel can be damaged by removing the bolts - B - with an air powered or impact wrench.

Only remove the bolts for the dual mass flywheel by hand.

Remove the transmission.

- Rotate the flywheel - A - until the bolts - B - line up with the holes - arrows -.






- Be careful the bolt heads do not get caught on the flywheel when removing them - B -.

- Insert the flywheel retainer (3067) in the hole on the cylinder block.






- Mark the flywheel position to the engine.

- Remove the flywheel.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Replace the bolts.

Tightening specification






1 90° corresponds to 1/4 turn.
