1UR-FSE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal
5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal
6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal
7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
10. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
11. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
12. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
14. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY Removal
15. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly Removal.
16. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/o Active Stabilizer System)
(a) Remove the front stabilizer bar Removal.
17. REMOVE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Active Stabilizer System)
(a) Remove the front active stabilizer control actuator assembly Removal.
18. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE Removal
19. SEPARATE OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the oil cooler tube sub-assembly.
20. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal
21. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
22. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR Removal
23. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal
24. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator.
25. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
HINT
Secure disconnected harnesses, etc. with tape or equivalent so that they do not interfere.
(a) Disconnect the engine wire harness connector.
HINT
To disconnect the injector driver connectors, push the claw downward and move the lock lever to release the lock.
(1) Remove the nut, and disconnect the +B terminal of the generator assembly.
(2) Using a clip remover, disconnect the 6 engine wire harness clamps.
(3) Remove the bolt and nut and separate the No. 1 oil cooler tube.
(4) Remove the nut and disconnect the 12 connectors.
(5) Remove the nut from the No. 1 relay block.
(6) Remove the 12 clamps and 10 connectors.
(7) Remove the 4 nuts, and disconnect the engine wire harness.
26. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER
(a) Disconnect the 4 injector driver connectors.
HINT
To disconnect the injector driver connectors, push the claw downward and move the lock lever to release the lock.
(b) Disconnect the 2 clamps from the injector driver.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and injector driver from the intake manifold.
27. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Slide the 4 clamps, and disconnect the heater inlet water hose, heater outlet water hose, water inlet hose, and No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe.
28. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose and No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose.
(b) Remove the bolt and vacuum switching valve.
29. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
(a) Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose from the intake manifold.
(b) Remove the 8 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
(c) Remove the 2 gaskets from the intake manifold.
