DR-1A CODE to DR TEST Chart (Checking for Fault Codes)

1. Connect diagnostic read-out tool to engine harness connector.
2. Within five seconds, cycle ignition on and off two times, then turn on and record all codes. If code sequence is 15-17-21-51 or 52, proceed to step 9. DR-9A Fault Code 31 EGR/Canister Purge Solenoid
3. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect and reconnect battery connector.
4. Start engine and let run for two minutes. Do not depress accelerator to start engine.
5. Raise engine speed to 2000 RPM for 10 seconds, then return to idle.
6. On models with automatic transmission, cycle gear selector, then turn A/C on and off, if equipped.
7. Turn engine Off, then within five seconds, cycle ignition on and off two times, then turn on and record all codes.
8. If codes displayed are same as those in step 2, proceed to step 9. DR-9A Fault Code 31 EGR/Canister Purge SolenoidIf codes are not repeated, proceed to Test 1 step Q DR-1Q Intermittent Caused By Wiring &/or Connectors
9. Initiate appropriate diagnosis for the following fault code displays:
a. Code sequence 88-12-55 indicates no fault codes are present. Proceed to Test 1 step B DR-1B Output Circuits of ECM Controlled Components
b. Code sequence 88-12-13-55, 88-12-14-55 or 88-12-13-14-55 indicates a fault in MAP sensor circuit. Proceed to Test 2 DR-2A Fault Codes 13 &/or 14 MAP Sensor Circuit
