DR-9A Fault Code 31 EGR/Canister Purge Solenoid

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine harness connector, connect a voltmeter to gray/yellow wire of dual solenoid 4-way connector and ground.
2. Place system in ATM Test Mode Code 07.
3. If voltmeter reads a steady voltage within one volt of battery voltage, proceed to Test 9 step B. DR-9B Canister Purge/EGR Solenoid Control Wire
4. If voltmeter is pulsating between one and five volts, replace solenoid assembly.
5. If voltmeter is not pulsating but reads zero to one volt, disconnect logic module blue connector. If voltage is now within one volt of battery voltage, replace logic module. If not, repair gray /yellow wire for a short to ground.
