Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair






Vibration Damper

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Retainer (3036)

Removing






- Remove the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt.

The engine is not shown in the following illustrations.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - on the left front coolant pipes.

Ignore - 1 -.

The engine is not shown in the following illustrations.

Vehicles with Left Front Coolant Pipes, Version 1






- Remove the bolts - 2 - on the left front coolant pipes.

Ignore - 1 and 3 -.

Vehicles with Left Front Coolant Pipes, Version 2






- Remove the bolt - 1 - on the left front coolant pipes.

Ignore - arrows -.

All Vehicles






- Remove the bumper cover end plate.

- Remove the left and right bolts - 1 - and remove the radiator bracket with the radiator from the lock carrier - arrow -.






- Free up the wiring harness.






- Open the retainer - arrow A - then remove the coolant fan control module 2 (J671) - 1 - from the fan shroud - B - and move it to the side.

Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering






- Pivot the tensioner clockwise - arrow - to release the tension on the ribbed belt.

- Remove the ribbed belt from the vibration damper and release the tension on the tensioning element.

Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering






- Pivot the tensioner clockwise - arrow - to release the tension on the ribbed belt.

- Remove the ribbed belt from the vibration damper and release the tension on the tensioning element.

Ignore (T10060 A).

All Vehicles






- Remove the vibration damper bolts - 1 -; to do this, counter hold it using the (3036).

- Remove the vibration damper.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications:

=> [ Ribbed Belt Drive, Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering Overview ] Ribbed Belt Drive, Vehicles With Electro-Mechanical Power Steering Overview

Replace bolts that are tightened to the specification.

Installation is only possible in one position because of the offset holes.

- Install the radiator bracket and radiator. Refer to => [ Radiator and Coolant Fan Overview ] Radiator and Coolant Fan Overview.

- Install the bumper cover end plate.

- Install the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Left Front Coolant Pipes ] Left Front Coolant Pipes.

- Installing the ribbed belt:

=> [ Ribbed Belt, Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering ] Ribbed Belt, Vehicles With Electro-Mechanical Power Steering
