Test 2 - SRS Warning Light Does Not Extinguish

TEST 2 - SRS WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT EXTINGUISH
(1) Read (and write down) all of the displayed diagnostic trouble codes and service data (fault duration and how many time memories are erased) using the Scan Tool.

NOTE:
(1) If the Scan Tool displays "CAN'T COMM", check the Scan Tool and vehicle side data link connector for poor connections (Refer to the previous page.) and perform TEST 4. Test 4 - No Communication Between Scan Tool and SRS-ECU
(2) Maximum stored period: 9999 minutes (approximately 7 days)
(3) Maximum number of times to be stored: 250

(2) Erase in diagnostic trouble codes following the Scan Tool messages.
(3) Start engine.

Does "SRS" warning light illuminate for about 7 seconds and then turn OFF?

If yes, SRS is functioning properly now. If no, check the diagnostic trouble codes written down at step (1), refer to Trouble Code Descriptions, and perform service indicated there.

Also, if the SRS warning light doesn't go off even though the diagnostic trouble code indicates normal, perform TEST 5. Test 5 - SRS Warning Light Does Not Go Off, Codes Read Normal
