Test 5 - SRS Warning Light Does Not Go Off, Codes Read Normal
TEST 5 - THE SRS WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF EVEN THOUGH THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDICATES NORMAL.NOTE:

*2: From 1995 models

PROCEDURES
(1) Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position, disconnect the negative battery cable and tape the terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery cable before doing any further work.
(2) Remove the floor console assembly.
(3) Remove the SRS-ECU connector lock by the following procedure.
If there is no notch in the connector lock lever (Type 1).
Place a flat tip screwdriver against the lock spring (metal section) of the connector lock lever as shown in the illustration, and push the spring horizontally toward the inside of the unit.
CAUTION:
1 Do not use excessive force to raise the lock lever.
2 Do not insert the screwdriver into the gap between the lock lever and the lock spring.
If there is a notch in the connector lock lever (Type 2)
Place a flat tip screwdriver against the lock spring (metal section) at the lock lever notch as shown in the illustration, and push the spring toward the unit.
CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to raise the lock lever.
(4) Disconnect the 14-pin connector from SRS-ECU
(5) Reconnect negative terminal of battery, and turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.
(6) Check according to the flow chart.
NOTE-IMPORTANT
(1) After repairing the SRS, reconnect the battery cable and check the SRS Waring light operation to verify the system functions properly. (Refer to TEST 2.) Test 2 - SRS Warning Light Does Not Extinguish
(2) SRS-ECU = SRS Air Bag Control Unit
