Installation
POWER STEERING: STEERING GEAR (w/ VGRS): INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for AWD)
(a) Install the power steering link and 2 washers to the front frame with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque : 150 Nm (1530 kgf-cm, 111 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 5 connectors and attach the 2 clips and 3 clamps.
HINT
Connect connector A as shown in the illustration.
2. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)
(a) Install the power steering link and rack housing bracket to the front frame with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.
Torque : 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 5 connectors and attach the 3 clips.
HINT
Connect connector A as shown in the illustration.
3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Connect the tie rod LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.
Torque : 60 Nm (612 kgf-cm, 44 ft-lbf)
(b) Install a new cotter pin.
4. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
5. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) Installation
6. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Installation
7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BAR BUSH (for AWD) Installation
8. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR (for AWD) Installation
9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH (for AWD) Installation
10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH (for AWD) Installation
11. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET RH (for AWD)
(a) Install the bracket and bolt.
Torque : 22 Nm (224 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 2 clamps.
12. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for AWD)
(a) Install the bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
13. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD)
(a) Install the bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
14. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER (for AWD) Installation
15. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER (for 2WD) Installation
16. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for AWD) Installation
17. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for AWD) Service and Repair
18. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) Installation
19. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) Service and Repair
20. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
21. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
22. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation
23. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
24. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM
(a) Check the suspension control system Adjustments.
25. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment Front Wheel Alignment.
26. ADJUST HEADLIGHT
(a) Adjust the headlights Adjustments.
27. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
28. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT
(a) Initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.
29. PERFORM VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION
(a) Perform variable gear ratio steering system calibration Calibration.
