Installation

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (w/ VGRS): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR)

(a) Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.





Torque : 26 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD)

(a) Install the clamp to the steering column hole cover sub-assembly.





(b) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column.





(c) Install the bolt.

Torque : 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

(d) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering link.





(e) Install the bolt.

Torque : 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Install the clamp to the steering column hole cover sub-assembly.





(b) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column.





(c) Install the bolt.

Torque : 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)





(a) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly.

(b) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly and steering link.

(c) Temporarily install bolt (B).

NOTICE:
Do not tighten the bolt.

(d) Install bolt (A) and tighten bolt (B).





Torque : 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

5. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the air duct.





(b) Install the bolt.

Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

(c) Attach the 2 claws to install the wiring harness protector.





7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

8. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Installation

9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

10. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING Installation

11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Installation

12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Installation

13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

14. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly with the clamp.





(b) Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.

15. INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH

(a) Attach the claw to install the switch.





(b) Connect the switch connector.

16. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)

(a) Attach the claw to install the steering column cover upper.





(b) Attach the 4 clips to install the steering column cover upper to the instrument cluster finish panel.

(c) Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column cover lower.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

(d) Install the 3 screws.

Torque : 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)

17. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)

(a) Connect the drive monitor connector.

(b) Attach the claw to install the steering column cover upper.





(c) Attach the 4 clips to install the steering column cover upper onto the instrument panel cluster finish panel.

(d) Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column cover lower.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

(e) Install the 3 screws.

Torque : 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)

18. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

19. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.





(b) Install the steering wheel assembly with set nut.

Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)

20. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

21. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL PAD

22. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL PAD Installation

23. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

24. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE Installation

25. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Programming and Relearning.
* l When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
