Removal





PARKING BRAKE: ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR: REMOVAL

1. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE

(a) With the engine switch on (IG), operate the electric parking brake switch to release the parking brake. Then turn the engine switch off.

HINT
If the parking brake cannot be released, use the luggage compartment's parking brake release tool to manually release the parking brake.

2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE Removal

7. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH Removal

8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

9. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the trunk interior's electric parking brake actuator grommet and connector.





10. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Removal

12. REMOVE NO. 6 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 5 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR Removal

14. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH Removal

15. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH Removal

16. REMOVE REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER LH Removal

17. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP

(a) Remove the clamps shown in the illustration.





18. REMOVE FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER Removal

19. DISCONNECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR CAP

(a) Remove the electric parking brake actuator emergency release cable cap and 2 nuts.





20. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR REAR LH Removal

21. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR REAR RH Removal

22. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

23. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

24. REMOVE TAILPIPE LH Removal

26. DISCONNECT PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

(a) Using SST, remove the shoe return spring (LH side).

48. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the cable from the cable support bracket.





49. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE W/ BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and 5 nuts.





(b) Detach the clamp from the member.

(c) Remove the 3 harness clamps from the member.





(d) Remove the 3 nuts and actuator.
