2ZR-FXE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

Removal

2. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER AIR DUCT SPLASH SHIELD SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER AIR DUCT SPLASH SHIELD SEAL Removal

4. REMOVE COWL BODY MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT LH Removal

5. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE Removal

10. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine w/ Exhaust Heat Recirculation System) Service and Repair

11. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/ Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

CAUTION:
Perform this procedure when the coolant is not hot.

(a) Disconnect the 3 clamps and oxygen sensor connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2 heater water hoses.

(d) Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

(e) Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly and exhaust manifold.

12. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (w/o Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

(a) Disconnect the 3 clamps and oxygen sensor connector.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.

(c) Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

(d) Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly and exhaust manifold.

13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and No. 1 floor heat insulator.

14. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

15. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR Removal

16. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.

17. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the 7 nuts, exhaust manifold and 2 gaskets.

18. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator.
