Side Curtain Airbag - Installation

INSTALLATION

CURTAIN AIRBAG





1. Position curtain airbag (7) over retaining holes in roof rail and firmly snap push fasteners (9) into place.




2. Engage the side curtain airbag front tether (2) plastic retainer to the hole in the upper A-pillar (1).




3. Connect the curtain airbag squib connector (4).
4. Install the screws (8) that secure the curtain airbag (7) to the spring nuts in the roof side rail. Tighten screws to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
5. Install the headliner into the vehicle Headliner - Installation.

WARNING: Do not connect the battery negative cable Refer to appropriate testing. Personal injury or death may result if the system test is not performed first.

6. Close hood.

HEAD IMPACT COUNTER MEASURES





1. Position the head impact counter measure rail (5 and 7) over retaining slots and firmly snap the retaining clips (6) into place.
2. Install the curtain airbag. Refer to above procedure Side Curtain Airbag - Installation.
3. Install the headliner into the vehicle Headliner - Installation.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT IF THE SYSTEM TEST IS NOT PERFORMED FIRST. FOR THE SYSTEM TEST, Supplemental Restraints Verification Test

4. Close hood.
