Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement Engine Sight Shield Replacement.

2. Remove the radiator inlet hose from cylinder head. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (2.4L LEA) Radiator Inlet Hose ReplacementRadiator Inlet Hose Replacement (2.0L LHU) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement.

3. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement Service and Repair.

4. Release the power brake booster vacuum pipe. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L LEA - Engine Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Engine Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L LEA - Booster Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Booster Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0L LHU - Booster Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Booster Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0 LHU - Engine Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Engine Side).

5. Remove the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Refer to Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

6. Remove the turbocharger control solenoid valve. Refer to Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve Replacement Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve Replacement.

7. Remove the oil level indicator and tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement Service and Repair.

8. Release the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Removal and Replacement.

9. Remove the intake manifold brace. Refer to Intake Manifold Brace Replacement Intake Manifold Brace Replacement.

10. Remove the fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine.




11. Remove the 5 intake manifold bolts (3) and the 2 intake manifold nuts (2) from the intake manifold (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Loosely install the 5 intake manifold bolts (3) and the 2 intake manifold nuts (2) to the intake manifold (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Tighten the intake manifold bolts and the nuts in sequence as shown to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Engine.

4. Install the intake manifold brace. Refer to Intake Manifold Brace Replacement Intake Manifold Brace Replacement.

5. Install the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Removal and Replacement.

6. Install the oil level indicator and tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement Service and Repair.

7. Install the turbocharger control solenoid valve. Refer to Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve Replacement Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve Replacement.

8. Install the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Refer to Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

9. Install the power brake booster vacuum pipe. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L LEA - Engine Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Engine Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L LEA - Booster Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Booster Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0L LHU - Booster Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Booster Side)Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0 LHU - Engine Side) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (Engine Side).

10. Install the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement Service and Repair.

11. Install the radiator inlet hose to cylinder head. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (2.4L LEA) Radiator Inlet Hose ReplacementRadiator Inlet Hose Replacement (2.0L LHU) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement.

12. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement Engine Sight Shield Replacement.
