• Service the air line if there are leaks, refer to => [ Air Line, Servicing ] Description and Operation or replace the connection, refer to => [ Connecting Piece, Replacing ] Description and Operation
• Clean connections before loosening
• Air escapes when connections are unscrewed

Wheel Bearing Housing Characteristics
Different versions of the wheel bearing housing were installed in production depending on the model year.
• With dimension - x - = 75 mm

Drive Axle Overview
1 Drive Axle

• Tensioning, refer to => [ Small and Large Clamps, Tightening on Inner or Outer Joint ] Description and Operation
3 Protective Boot
• Check for tears and scuffing
4 Clamp

5 Locking Ring
• Always replace if removed
• Insert in shaft groove
• Before installing CV joint, align sealing ring in center with opening facing upward.
6 Outer CV Joint
• Replace only as complete unit
• Installing: Drive onto shaft until impact using plastic hammer
• Before assembling, coat splines using assembly paste
7 Bolt
• M10: 50 Nm + 90°
• M12: 90 Nm + 90°
• Always replace if removed
