Selector Lever Cable Overview
1 Selector Lever Cable
• Do not bend
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Service and Repair
• The selector lever cable must be replaced if the rubber grommet is damaged.
• Ball socket and ball head must be free of oil and grease
• Make sure the rubber grommet for the selector lever cable is installed correctly in the selector mechanism.
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments
2 Clip
• Replace
• For the selector lever cable to the selector mechanism function unit
3 Bolt
• 13 Nm
• For adjusting the selector lever cable
4 Bolt
• For selector lever cable
• The plastic retaining spring on adjustment slide must lock the pins so that they cannot fall out.
5 Adjustment Slide
6 Gearshift Lever
• Ball socket and ball head must be free of oil and grease
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever ] Selector Lever
7 Cable Mounting Bracket
• For selector lever cable
8 Bolt
• M6: 9 Nm
• M8: 22 Nm
• For attaching the cable bracket to the transmission
Size depends on the version
9 Clip
• For the selector lever cable to the cable mounting bracket
• Always replace
10 Bolt
• M6: 9 Nm
• M8: 22 Nm
• For attaching the cable bracket to the transmission
Size depends on the version
Selector Lever Cable Heat Shield - Tightening Specification
- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 4 - to 9 Nm.
