Headrest Guides

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic, Electrical and Mechanical Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Testing and Inspection.

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove the front seat:

• Manual standard seat/Sport seat, refer to => [ Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual ] Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual.

• Power Standard seat/power Sport seat/Super sport seat as well as multicontour seat, refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove backrest cover with backrest cushion:

• Standard seat/Sport seat (manual or power), refer to => [ Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion, Standard Seat/Sport Seat ] Backrest Cover With Backrest Cushion, Standard Seat/Sport Seat.

• Super sport seat => [ Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion, Super Sport Seat ] Backrest Cover With Backrest Cushion, Super Sport Seat.

• Multicontour seat => [ Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion for Multi-contour Seat ] Backrest Cover With Backrest Cushion For Multi-Contour Seat.

Right headrest guide:






- Press retaining tabs in - arrows - and simultaneously pull the headrest guide - 1 - out of the backrest frame - 2 -.

Left headrest guide:






- Press in retaining tab - arrows - and simultaneously pull headrest guide - 1 - out of the backrest frame - 2 -.

Installation

• The headrest guide can only be inserted in one position.

• The guide tab - 3 - on the headrest guide must engage in cut-out of mount on the backrest frame.

• Make sure the retaining tab(s) engage(s) correctly in backrest frame.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.
