Depth Adjustment Motor V256/V257

Driver seat depth adjustment motor (V256) / front passenger seat depth adjustment motor (V257)

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic, Electrical and Mechanical Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Testing and Inspection.

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Lower the front seat all the way down and then raise approximately 1/3.

- Move seat depth adjuster forward.

- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove front trim bracket, compressor and multi-contour seat control module. Refer to => [ Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module ] Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module.

- Remove seat cover and seat cushion. Refer to => [ Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Multi-contour Seat ] Seat Cover With Seat Cushion For Multi-Contour Seat.

- Remove the cover from the seat depth adjuster. Refer to => [ Seat Depth Adjuster Cover ] Seat Depth Adjuster Cover.

- Remove the carrier for the seat depth adjuster motor. Refer to => [ Depth Adjustment Motor Carrier V256/V257 ] Depth Adjustment Motor Carrier V256/V257.

- Disconnect and free up the electrical connector - 3 -.






- Remove the screws - 1 - and - 4 - and the seat depth adjuster motor - 2 -.

- Remove the screws - 1 - and move the seat angle adjustment motor - 4 - to the side.






Installation

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
