Audio Unit Power Switch Will Not Turn On (No Information Display and No Sound) (With Navigation)

Audio unit power switch will not turn on (No information display and no sound) (with navigation)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Push the power switch on to see if the audio-navigation unit turns on.

Does the audio-navigation unit display operate properly, and does the audio-navigation unit sound normal?
YES - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

NO - Go to step 3.


3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

4. Check the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

Are the fuses OK?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.


5. Remove the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation) Check that the audio-navigation unit connectors are properly connected.

Are they connected properly?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Repair poor connections and reconnect the connectors, and recheck the function.


6. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector A (24P).
NOTE: Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

8. Measure the voltage between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminals No. 14 and No. 24 individually.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 9.

NO - Repair open in the wire(s) between the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, the No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation unit.






9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

10. Reconnect audio-navigation unit connector A (24P).

11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

12. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 12 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Go to step 13.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No 12 and body ground (G401).. Dashboard Wire Harness (View Of Driver's Side) Connector And Harness Locations






13. Disconnect the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector.

14. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

15. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector terminal No. 14 and body ground.

Is there about 3 V?
YES - Go to step 16.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the audio-navigation switch panel and the audio-navigation unit.






16. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

17. Reconnect the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector.

18. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

19. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector terminal No. 17 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Substitute a known-good audio-navigation switch panel, Audio-Navigation Switch Panel Removal/Installation (With Navigation) and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio-navigation switch panel. If symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit. Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

NO - Repair open or short in the wire between the audio-navigation switch panel and audio-navigation unit connector, or check for a short to ground. If there is no short to power, substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (including the HDD), Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation) and retest. If the symptom goes away, replace the original audio-navigation unit.
