Replacing the center console panel

Preparations




Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed SRS airbag or seat belt tensioner. There is a risk that they might deploy.

Warning! SRS airbag modules or seat belt tensioners must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.

Removing the center console panel





Remove:
- steering wheel and steering column covers. See Steering wheel with switches Steering Wheel With Switches
- the switch. See Replacing wiper and/or turn signal indicator switch Replacing Wiper And/Or Turn Signal Indicator Switch
- the contact reel. See Airbag steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement
- the center tunnel console. See Center console Center Console
- the panel. See Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module
- the dashboard. See Dashboard Dashboard.
Lift out dashboard.

Remove:
- screws (13 x) Torx 20
- the center console panel.

Installing the center console panel

Install:
- the center console panel
- 13 screws.
Lift out the dashboard.

Install:
- the dashboard. See Dashboard Dashboard
- the panel. See Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module
- the center tunnel console. See Center console Center Console
- the contact reel. See Airbag steering wheel module, steering wheel and contact reel Airbag Steering Wheel Module, Steering Wheel and Contact Reel Replacement
