Level Control System Components and Component Locations
1 Level Control System Control Module (J197)
• Component location: In the luggage compartment behind the right side panel trim.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Level Control System Control Module ] Service and Repair.
2 Rear Left Air Spring Shock Absorber
• With left rear damping adjustment valve (N338)
• The left rear damping adjustment valve can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] Rear Suspension.
3 Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76)
• Component location: On rear subframe
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system (VAS 5051B)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Level Control System Sensor ] Rear Level Control System Sensor.
• If the left rear level control system sensor was removed and then installed, a basic setting of the level control system must be performed with the vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system (VAS 5051B).
4 Level Control System Control Head (E281)
• Component location: in center console.
• Switch on the vehicle lift mode. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] Description and Operation.
5 Pressure Reservoir
• Component location: Left front, on underbody.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Accumulator ] Removal and Replacement.
• Filling, refer to => [ Accumulator, Filling ] Procedures.
6 Left Front Body Acceleration Sensor (G341)
• Component location: On the left upper wheel housing.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front Body Acceleration Sensor ] Service and Repair.
7 Left Front Air Spring Shock Absorber
• With left front damping adjustment valve (N336).
• The left front damping adjustment valve can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] Air Spring Damper.
8 Left Front Level Control System Sensor (G78)
• Component location: In the left front wheel housing and on the upper control arm.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Front Level Control System Sensor ] Front Level Control System Sensor.
• If the left front level control system sensor was removed and then installed, a basic setting of the level control system must be performed with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).
9 Right Front Level Control Sensor (G289)
• Component location: In the right front wheel housing and on the upper control arm.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Front Level Control System Sensor ] Front Level Control System Sensor.
• If the right front level control system sensor was removed and then installed, a basic setting of the level control system must be performed with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).
10 Right Front Air Spring Shock Absorber
• With right front damping adjustment valve (N337)
• The right front damping adjustment valve can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

11 Right Front Body Acceleration Sensor (G342)
• Component location: On the right upper wheel housing.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Front Body Acceleration Sensor ] Service and Repair.
12 Compressor with Adaptive Suspension Valve Block (NX7)
• can be tested in "guided fault finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051)
• Removal and installation without an adaptive suspension valve block, refer to => [ Compressor, without Adaptive Suspension Valve Block ] Compressor, without Adaptive Suspension Valve Block.
• Removal and installation with an adaptive suspension valve block, refer to => [ Compressor, with Adaptive Suspension Valve Block ] Compressor, with Adaptive Suspension Valve Block.
• Removing and installing the adaptive suspension valve block, refer to => [ Adaptive Suspension Valve Block ] Service and Repair.
• Not designed to be serviced.
• Component location: Right front, on underbody.
• With Level Control System Compressor Motor (V66).
• With Level Control Pressure Sensor (G291).
13 Right Rear Level Control System Sensor (G77)
• Component location: On rear subframe.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Level Control System Sensor ] Rear Level Control System Sensor.
• If the right rear level control system sensor was removed and then installed, a basic setting of the level control system must be performed with the vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system (VAS 5051B).
14 Rear Right Air Spring Shock Absorber
• With Right Rear Dampening Adjustment Valve (N339).
• The right rear damping adjustment valve (N339) can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnostic tester (VAS 5051B).
