Removal and Replacement

Accumulator

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester (VAS 5051B)

Component Location

The accumulator on the front left of the underbody.

Removing

- Bleed the accumulator using the (VAS 5051B).

- Activate the vehicle lift mode and place the vehicle on the lifting platform. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] Description and Operation.

- Remove the left underbody trim.

- Unscrew the air line - 1 -.






- Unscrew the bolt - 2 - and remove the accumulator - 3 - from the retaining pin - arrows -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Fill the accumulator using the (VAS 5051B). Refer to => [ Accumulator, Filling ] Procedures.
