Rear Side Airbag

• Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing

Read the Safety Instructions for working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions.

- Remove the 2/3 unit of the bench seat. Refer to => [ Bench Seats ] Bench Seats.

- Remove the 2/3 unit of the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Seats ] Rear Seats.

- Remove the outer trim of the 2/3 unit. Refer to => [ Outer Trims of the Rear Seats ] Outer Trims of the Rear Seats.

- Remove the pass-through. Refer to => [ Pass-Through ] Pass-Through.

- Remove the headrest of the 2/3 unit. Refer to => [ Headrest ] Headrest.

- Remove the headrest guides of the 2/3 unit. Refer to => [ Rear Headrest Guides ] Rear Headrest Guides.

- Remove the rear center belt anchor. Refer to => [ Rear Center Belt Anchor ] Rear Center Belt Anchor.

- Remove the cover and cushion of the 2/3 unit. Refer to => [ Rear Seat Backrest Covers and Cushion ] Rear Seat Backrest Covers and Cushion.

- Detach the wiring harness from the backrest and unscrew the screw - 1 - (9 Nm).






- Detach the airbag module - 2 - from the backrest.

- Detach the airbag case from the airbag module.

Installation

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Switch the ignition on.

Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect the vehicle battery.
