Instrument Panel, Removing and Installing, CC from MY 2010

Removing

- Remove footwell trim. Refer to => [ Footwell Trim ] Footwell Trim

- Remove the front ashtray or the front storage compartment. CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Front Ashtray or Front Storage Compartment, CC from MY 2010 ] Front Ashtray or Front Storage Compartment, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the Infotainment trim. CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Infotainment Trim, CC from MY 2010 ] Infotainment Trim, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the cover, "Climatronic/Climatic", CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Climatronic and Climatic Cover, CC from MY 2010 ] Climatronic and Climatic Cover, CC from MY 2010.

"Climatic" A/C System with Manual Control

Remove the heater and A/C controls, Climatic.

"Climatronic" A/C System with Automatic Control

- Remove the front A/C display control head (E87) with the Climatronic control module (J255).

- Remove Sunlight Photosensor 2 (G134).

- Remove rear trim. Refer to => [ Rear Trim ] Rear Trim

- Remove the center console, CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Center Console, CC from MY 2010 ] Center Console, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove driver side airbag unit. Refer to => [ Driver Side Airbag Unit, Passat CC from MY 2009 and CC from MY 2010 ] Driver Side Airbag Unit, Passat CC from MY 2009 and CC from MY 2010

- Remove the steering wheel.

- Remove steering column trim. Refer to => [ Steering Column Trim ] Steering Column Trim

- Remove side instrument panel covers. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Side Covers ] Instrument Panel Side Covers

- Remove upper trim on A-pillars. Refer to => [ A-Pillar Upper Trim for Passat CC from 2009 and CC from 2010 ] A-Pillar Upper Trim for Passat CC from 2009 and CC from 2010

- Remove center trim on A-pillars. Refer to => [ Center A-pillar Trim ] Center A-pillar Trim

- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment ] Glove Compartment

- Remove driver side footwell cover. Refer to => [ Driver Side Footwell Cover ] Driver Side Footwell Cover

- Remove the front passenger side instrument panel trim, CC from MY 2010 refer to => [ Front Passenger Side Instrument Panel Trim, CC from MY 2010 ] Front Passenger Side Instrument Panel Trim, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the instrument cluster trim, CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Instrument Cluster Trim, CC from MY 2010 ] Instrument Cluster Trim, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the analog clock, CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Analog Clock, CC from MY 2010 ] Analog Clock, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the radio and/or radio-navigation system.

- Remove the steering column switch.

- Remove the driver side trim, CC from MY 2010, refer to => [ Driver Side Trim, Removing and Installing, CC from MY 2010 ] Driver Side Trim, Removing and Installing, CC from MY 2010.

- Remove the instrument cluster.

Vehicles with cell phone mount on instrument panel

- Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the cell phone mount.

All vehicles

- Disconnect wiring harness to passenger air bag module.

- If present, disconnect temperature gauge wiring harness from right and left vent ducts.

- Remove screw - 1 - behind instrument cluster (3.5 Nm).






- Remove nut - 1 - (3.5 Nm) on left side of instrument panel.

- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 - (3.5 Nm).






- Remove nut - 1 - (3.5 Nm) on right side of instrument panel.

- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 - (3.5 Nm).






- Remove two screws - 1 - (3.5 Nm) in center area of instrument panel.

- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 3 - (3.5 Nm).






- Remove instrument panel - 1 - from clips - 2 - and - 3 - in windshield transition area.

To provide a better overview, clips - 2 - and - 3 - are shown removed.

When installing instrument panel, make sure that instrument panel is placed with exact fit into clips.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
