Oil Cooler: Service and Repair






Oil Filter Bracket and Oil Cooler Assembly Overview

Follow the "Safety Precautions" --> [ If metal shavings or a large quantity of small metal particles are found when repairing an engine, this could indicate that the crankshaft and connecting rod bearings are damaged. To prevent further damage, perform the following steps after the repair: ] Service and Repair.





1 Gasket

Replace

2 15 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

Replace

First, fasten upper left and lower right bolts, and then tighten all four bolts in a diagonal sequence

3 Oil Filter Bracket

Ensure sufficient clearance to surrounding components

4 Seal

Replace

5 Connection, 30 Nm

6 Oil Supply Line, 22 Nm

Do not change angles of the oil supply line

Install without tension

To turbocharger --> [ 4 Oil Supply Line ] Turbocharger with Exhaust Manifold and Attachments Assembly Overview

Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Oil Supply Line to Turbocharger ] Service and Repair.

Before installing, check oil supply line for clear passage

Fill with engine oil before installing the turbocharger oil supply line on the connections

7 Oil Pressure Switch (F1), 22 Nm

Identification: brown

0.7 bar

If sealing ring is leaking cut open and replace.

Checking, refer to --> [ Oil Pressure and Oil Pressure Switch, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

8 Cover, 25 Nm

9 O-Ring

Replace

10 Oil Filter Element

Follow replacement intervals.

11 Seal

Replace

Oil before assembling

Snaps into tabs of the oil cooler

12 Oil cooler

Follow Safety Precautions. To prevent further damage, perform the following steps after the repair: ] Service and Repair

Ensure sufficient clearance to surrounding components

Coolant hose connection diagram, refer to --> [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.

Checking refer to --> [ Oil Cooler, Checking for Leaks ] Testing and Inspection

13 Seal

Replace

14 Sealing Plug, 25 Nm

15 10 Nm

16 Bracket
