2ZR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: KNOCK SENSOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

6. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER Removal

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE Removal

8. SEPARATE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS Removal

9. REMOVE HARNESS BRACKET Removal

10. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE Removal

11. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE Removal

12. REMOVE FUEL PIPE CLAMP Removal

13. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER Removal

16. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER Removal

17. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR Removal

18. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK

20. REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

21. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL GAUGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

22. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Disconnect the 4 wire harness clamps.

(b) Disconnect the ventilation hose.

(d) Disconnect the water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose.

(e) Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts and remove the intake manifold and intake manifold stay.

23. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the knock sensor connector.

(b) Remove the bolt and remove the knock sensor.
