U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

2. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE Removal

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE Removal

6. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.





8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.





(c) Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

NOTICE:
Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

(d) Rotate the lock nut counterclockwise approximately 270° and, while holding the lock nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

NOTICE:
Do not over-rotate the lock nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

(e) Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.





(f) Remove the nut and transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

(g) Remove the bolt and disconnect the transmission control cable support.





(h) Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly.





(i) Pull out the transmission control cable assembly to remove it.
