2AR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
* The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
* Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.
1. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) Removal

2. REMOVE EXHAUST TAIL PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the exhaust tail pipe baffle evenly around its circumference to remove it.

NOTICE:
Do not reuse a removed exhaust tail pipe baffle.

3. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Disconnect the 2 exhaust pipe supports and remove the tailpipe.

(c) Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe.

4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front floor center brace.

5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

(b) Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports and remove the center exhaust pipe.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe.

(b) Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold converter.
