SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
* If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
* When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Install the rear airbag sensor.

(1) Attach the guide and temporarily install the rear airbag sensor with the bolt.

(2) Tighten the nut.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

(3) Check that the connector lock slider (white colored) is in the unlock position.

(4) Connect the sensor connector to the rear airbag sensor.

NOTICE:
When handling the sensor connector, take care not to damage the sensor wire harness.

(5) Check that the connector lock slider (white colored) is in the lock position.

(6) Check that the rear airbag sensor is not loose.

(a) When installing the rear airbag sensor RH:

Install the separate type rear seatback assembly RH Installation.

7. INSTALL BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Installation

8. INSTALL FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX Installation

9. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX RH Installation

10. INSTALL JACK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the jack.

11. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX LH Installation

12. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Installation

13. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover) Installation

14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

15. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
