70. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) w/ Transmission Shift Switch:

(1) Disconnect the L134 and z14 cable connectors.





(2) Set the spiral cable to the center position Installation.

(3) Measure the resistance between each terminal of the spiral cable according to the table below.

(4) After setting the spiral cable to the center position, rotate the spiral cable 2.5 times clockwise, and measure the resistance as shown. Then rotate the spiral cable 5 times counterclockwise, and measure the resistance as shown.

Standard resistance:





(5) After setting the spiral cable to the center position, rotate the spiral cable 2.5 times clockwise, and measure the resistance as shown. Then rotate the spiral cable 5 times counterclockwise, and measure the resistance as shown.

Standard resistance:





NOTICE:
As the spiral cable may break, do not rotate the spiral cable more than the specified amount.

(b) w/o Transmission Shift Switch:

(1) Disconnect the L134 and z7 cable connectors.





(2) Set the spiral cable to the center position Installation.

(3) Measure the resistance between each terminal of the spiral cable according to the table below.

(4) After setting the spiral cable to the center position, rotate the spiral cable 2.5 times clockwise, and measure the resistance as shown. Then rotate the spiral cable 5 times counterclockwise, and measure the resistance as shown.

Standard resistance:





(5) After setting the spiral cable to the center position, rotate the spiral cable 2.5 times clockwise, and measure the resistance as shown. Then rotate the spiral cable 5 times counterclockwise, and measure the resistance as shown.

Standard resistance:





NOTICE:
As the spiral cable may break, do not rotate the spiral cable more than the specified amount.

OK -- REPLACE STEERING PAD ECU Removal

71. CONNECT CONNECTOR

(a) Reconnect the L95 No. 10 junction connector connector.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

72. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 10 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR)

(a) Disconnect the R48 No. 9 junction connector connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 10 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

73. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR SIDE)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard resistance:

74. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

75. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

76. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

77. CONNECT CONNECTOR

(a) Reconnect the R48 No. 9 junction connector connector.

78. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH)

(a) Disconnect the N1 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Reconnect the R48 No. 9 junction connector connector.

80. CHECK SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH)

(a) Disconnect the O3 rear multiplex network door ECU RH connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Reconnect the R48 No. 9 junction connector connector.

82. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU)

(a) Disconnect the L89 tire pressure warning ECU connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

83. CONNECT CONNECTOR

(a) Reconnect the R48 No. 9 junction connector connector.

84. CHECK FOR SHORT IN CAN BUS WIRES (NO. 9 JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 8 JUNCTION CONNECTOR)

(a) Disconnect the R57 No. 8 junction connector connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the e20 front power seat ECU and switch RH connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the A50 front controller connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

91. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

(b) Disconnect the DA and DF main body ECU connectors.

(c) Disconnect the L11 main body ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:
