BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

(a) Install a new brake booster gasket to the brake booster assembly.

2. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

(a) Install the push rod clevis lock nut and brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake booster assembly, and temporarily tighten the push rod clevis lock nut.

HINT
Fully tighten the lock nut after adjusting the brake pedal height.

3. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the brake booster assembly with the 4 nuts.





Torque : 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the brake lines or clamps. If any parts are damaged, replace them with new ones.

4. CONNECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS Installation

5. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT BRAKE TUBE ASSEMBLY

(a) Engage the 3 clamps to install the No. 1 front brake tube assembly.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the brake lines or clamps. If any parts are damaged, replace them with new ones.

8. INSTALL NO. 5 FRONT BRAKE TUBE

(a) Engage the clamp to install the No. 5 front brake tube.





(b) Using a union nut wrench, connect the No. 5 front brake tube.

Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.

(c) Engage the grommet of the No. 5 front brake tube.





(d) Using a union nut wrench, connect the No. 5 front brake tube to the front brake flexible hose LH.





Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.

9. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE

(a) Engage the 6 clamps to install the engine room main wire.





(b) Connect the ECM connector and lower the lever.





NOTICE:
* When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not become stuck between the connectors and other part.
* Make sure that the lever is securely locked.

(c) Engage the 2 clamps.





10. CONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

(a) Connect the fuel vapor feed hose and slide the clip.





11. INSTALL CHECK VALVE GROMMET

(a) Install a new check valve grommet to the brake booster assembly.

12. INSTALL BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the vacuum check valve assembly to the brake booster assembly.

13. CONNECT VACUUM HOSE

(a) Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum check valve and slide the clip.





14. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

15. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT Adjustments

16. INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY Adjustments

17. INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE Adjustments
