Front Seat Frame Replacement

Driver's Seat

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, 2-door SRS Component Location Index (2-Door), 4-door SRS Component Location Index (2-Door) and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones Service and Repair.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot area of the slide lock.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding area and pivot area of the seat tracks.

1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove these items:

- Front seat-back cover/pad:
- 2-door Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement (2-Door)
- 4-door Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement (4-Door)
- Front seat cushion cover/pad:
- 2-door Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (2-Door)
- 4-door Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (4-Door)
- Front seat belt buckle

3. Detach the clips, then remove the recline inner covers (A), the outer upper rail cover (B), the inner upper rail cover (C), and the side airbag module holder (D) from the seat frame (E).





4. Install the seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the seat wiring harnesses are routed properly and not pinched.
- Push the clips into place securely.

Passenger's Seat - 2-door

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations SRS Component Location Index (2-Door) and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization; with the HDS, without the HDS after front passenger's seat frame replacement.

NOTE:

- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones Service and Repair.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot area of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding area of the seat tracks.

1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Slide the front seat frame rearward fully, detach the clips, then remove the front rail covers (A) from the front of both seat tracks.






3. Slide the front seat frame forward fully, detach the clips, then remove the left rear rail cover (A) and the right rear rail cover (B) from the back of both seat tracks.





4. Remove these items:

- Front seat-back cover/pad Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement (2-Door)
- Front seat cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (2-Door)
- Front passenger's seat weight sensor Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement (2-Door)
- ODS unit ODS Unit Replacement
- Front seat belt buckle

5. Detach the clips, then remove the recline inner covers (A), and the side airbag module holder (B) from the seat frame (C).





6. Install the seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the seat wiring harnesses are routed properly and are not pinched.
- Push the clips into place securely.

Passenger's Seat - 4-door

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations SRS Component Location Index (2-Door) and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization; with the HDS, without the HDS after front passenger's seat frame replacement.

NOTE:

- If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones Service and Repair.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Apply oil to the pivot area of the slide locks.
- Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding area of the seat tracks.

1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove these items:

- Front seat-back cover/pad Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement (4-Door)
- Front seat cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement (4-Door)
- ODS unit ODS Unit Replacement
- Front seat belt buckle

3. Detach the clips, then remove the recline inner covers (A) and the side airbag module holder (B) from the seat frame (C).






4. Remove the bolts, and release the seat cushion springs (A) from the hooks (B), then remove the seat cushion frame (C).






5. Remove the seat weight sensors Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door).

6. If necessary, remove the bushing (A, B) from the seat frame (C).





7. Install the seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the seat wiring harnesses are routed properly and are not pinched.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
