Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement

Special Tools Required

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- The driver's seat is shown; the passenger's seat is similar.

1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the front seat belt buckle.

3. Passenger's seat: Remove the screw, then remove the rear seat access knob (A).






4. Driver's seat: Pull back the cap (A) to release the hooks (B), and remove the screws, then remove the height adjuster handle (C).






5. Remove the recline outer cover (A).

1. Remove the recline knob (B) and the screw.

2. Gently pull out the cover, then detach the clips, and release the hooks (C).

3. Passenger's seat: Release the rear seat access lever (D).

6. Release the tabs (A) and detach the clips, then remove the center cover (B).






7. From under the seat cushion, detach the side airbag connector clip (A). Disconnect the seat-back heater connector (B) (driver's seat with seat heater).

8. Release the hooks (C) from the seat cushion frame spring (D). Remove the wire ties (E), and pull out the side airbag harness (F) and seat-back heater harness (G) (driver's seat with seat heater) through the slits (H) in the seat cushion cover (I). Turn over the seat cushion cover, and release the hooks (J).

9. Pull out the side airbag harness (A), the ODS subharness (B) (passenger's seat), and the harness guides (C) through the holes (D) in the seat cushion cover.






10. Release the hook strips (A, B) from the seat cushion frame (C).

11. Release the hook strips (A) from under the seat cushion.






12. Remove the seat cushion cover/pad (A) from the seat cushion frame (B).






13. Release the upholstery rings (A) from under the seat cushion (B).






14. Pull back the edge of the seat cushion cover (A) all the way around, and release the upholstery rings (B), then remove the cover.

15. Install the cushion cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- To prevent wrinkles when installing the seat cushion cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the upholstery rings and the hook strips.
- Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat cushion cover (B) to the pad wires (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
