Oil Pan and Oil Pump Overview

• If large quantities of metal particles or other deposits (caused, for example, by partial seizure of the crankshaft or connecting rod damage) are found in the engine oil, the oil passages must be cleaned thoroughly and the oil cooler replaced in order to prevent further damage from occurring.

Danger of catalytic converter damage.

• Oil level must not exceed "max" marking.

• 9 Nm

6 Oil Baffle

• Replace

7 Bolt

• M6 - 9 Nm

• M8 - 20 Nm

8 Oil Pump

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pump ] Oil Pump

9 Centering Sleeve

10 Chain Tensioner

11 Bolt

• 9 Nm

12 Bolt

• 9 Nm

13 Oil Pressure Regulation Valve (N428)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pressure Regulation Valve (N428) ] Service and Repair

14 O-ring

• Replace

15 Drive Chain for Oil Pump

• Mark direction of rotation before removing

16 Gasket

• Replace

17 Oil Separator

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Separator ] Service and Repair

18 Bolt

• Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Oil Separator, Tightening Sequence ]

19 Upper Oil Pan

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Upper Oil Pan ] Upper Oil Pan

20 Bolt

• 9 Nm

21 Bolt

• Replace

• Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Upper Oil Pan, Tightening Sequence ]

22 Suction Line

• Clean the screen if it is dirty.

23 O-ring

• Replace

24 Gasket

25 O-ring

• Replace

26 Non-Return Valve

27 Oil Drain Plug

• 30 Nm

• Replace

28 Nut

• 9 Nm

- Tighten bolts in 3 stages in - 1 to 20 - sequence as follows:






Upper Oil Pan, Tightening Sequence





- Tighten bolts in 3 stages in - 1 to 14 - sequence as follows:

• There may be 13 bolts installed, depending on the version.






Oil Separator, Tightening Sequence





- Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm in the following sequence: - 1 to 9 -.
