Fresh Air Blower (V2) with Fresh Air Blower Control Module (J126)

Removal

- Note the general information. Refer to => [ General Control Motor Information ] General Control Motor Information.

- Move the right front seat all the way back.

- Switch off the ignition.

- Remove the glove compartment.

- Release the quick-connect coupling - 2 - with a screwdriver - 1 -.






- Detach and remove the cover - 3 - at the bracket - 4 -.

- Disconnect the electrical harness connector - C -.






Press the locking mechanism down with a small screwdriver, for example, to release the connector.

- Remove screws - A -.

There is a risk of burns.

If the Fresh air blower (V2) with the Fresh air blower control module (J126) was in operation prior to removal, it can be hot.

Do not touch a hot cooling surface on the fresh air blower control module.

- Pull the fresh air blower - B - out of the air intake housing - E -.

Unbalanced fan wheel.

Do not hold the fresh air blower fan wheel. Putting pressure on the fan wheel or sliding the balancing weight on it can cause an imbalance and lead to problems during operation.

Depending on the vehicle version (the thickness and version of the foam under the floor covering in the area of the fresh air blower), it is always possible to remove the fresh air blower from the air intake housing and reinstall it without crushing the fan wheel. However, the fresh air blower can be damaged by even a brief application of force.

If it is not possible to remove the fresh air blower from the air intake housing without crushing the fan wheel, the air intake housing must be removed. Refer to => [ Air Intake Housing ] Air Intake Housing.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order, observe the following:

- Tighten the screws, refer to => [ Air Intake Housing - Add On Parts Overview ] Description and Operation.

- Install the glove compartment.

After completion of the repair work, perform the following work on the control head using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Read out the event memory and erase any displayed entries.

- Perform the basic setting.

- Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
