Audi Magnetic Ride (AMR) - Electronically-Controlled Damping Overview
1 Shock Absorber with Right Front Dampening Adjustment Valve (N337)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Suspension Strut ] Front Suspension.
• Servicing, refer to => [ Suspension Strut ] Front Suspension.
2 Right Front Level Control Sensor (G289)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] Front Suspension.
3 Electronic Damping Control Module (J250)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Electronic Damping Control Module ] Service and Repair.
• If the electronic damping control module is replaced, the control position must be reprogrammed.
• Component location: The electronic damping control module is installed under the right front seat.
4 Damping Adjustment Button (E387)
• Component location: If the vehicle does not have the Start/Stop System, then the damping adjustment button is located in the instrument panel. If the vehicle does have the Start/Stop System, then the button is located in the center console.
• Press the damping adjustment button for 5 seconds to turn on the test mode for the Audi magnetic ride (AMR) - electronic damping. To stop the test mode, either press the damping adjustment button, turn the ignition on or off or drive the vehicle at 10 km/h.
5 Shock Absorber with Right Rear Dampening Adjustment Valve (N339)

6 Right Rear Level Control System Sensor (G77)

7 Shock Absorber with Left Rear Dampening Adjustment Valve (N338)

8 Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76)

9 Dampening Adjustment Indicator Lamp (K189)
• The instrument cluster indicator light comes on if there is a malfunction.
10 Shock Absorber with Left Front Dampening Adjustment Valve (N336)

11 Left Front Level Control System Sensor (G78)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] Front Suspension.
If the following procedures were performed on a vehicle with Audi Magnetic Ride (AMR) electronic damping, then it will be necessary to adapt the damping system on new shock absorbers Select the correct program in "Guided Functions " using the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) for the electronic damping control module (J250) :
• Servicing the wiring harness between the shock absorber and the electronic damping control module.
• Removing and installing the shock absorber.
• Removing and installing the electronic damping control module.
• Servicing the wiring harness between the shock absorber and the electronic damping control module.
