Flex Plate: Service and Repair






Carrier plate

Removal

Removing the transmission and carrier plate
Remove the transaxle. Transmission, Removing





Lock the carrier plate using an M10 screw. Remove the carrier plate.

Installation

Caution! Ensure that the mating surfaces on the crankshaft and carrier plate are completely clean.The carrier plate must lie against the crankshaft flange before the screws are installed. There is a risk that excess locking fluid on the screws will come between the mating surfaces.

Brush off all the old locking fluid from the two old screws. Use a wire brush. Mark the cleaned screws using a marker pen.

Install:
- the carrier plate, tighten it in towards the crankshaft with the two cleaned and marked screws.

Note! Check that the locating pin on the crankshaft is positioned opposite the hole in the carrier plate.

- 6 x new screws. Tighten. Torque: Flexplate, 80 Nm.
Remove the two old marked screws.
Install the remaining new screws. Tighten. Torque: Flexplate, 80 Nm.




Remove the locking screw.

Installing the gearbox
Install the transaxle. Transmission, Installing
