Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Crankshaft front seal

Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
Removal
Remove the following items:
- the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Auxiliary belt, B8444S Service and Repair
- right-hand front tire. Refer to: Wheels Service and Repair.
Remove the center screw.

Insert screw in the center hole of the crankshaft.

Caution! Cleaning must be carried out around the crankshaft journal, not along it. Make sure that all residue from the emery cloth and other foreign substances is completely removed before installing a new crankshaft seal.
Note! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Use: emery paper, 951 1024
Installation

Install the following items:
- 999 7196 Counterhold 999 7196 Counterhold
- 999 7198 Press tool 999 7198 Press Tool
Torque: T9997198, 100 Nm
999 7198 Press tool 999 7198 Press Tool
999 7198 Press tool 999 7198 Press Tool
Torque: Center nut vibration damper (crankshaft)
Stage 1: 120 Nm
Stage 2: Loosen the screw 360 degree
Stage 3: 50 Nm
Stage 4: 90 degree
Install the following items:
- the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Auxiliary belt, B8444S Service and Repair
- right-hand front tire. Wheels Service and Repair.
