Installing

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque.

Installing the transmission
Before installing the transmission it is very important that the checks and cleaning have been carried out. See: Transmission, preparations before installing, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN Transmission, Preparations Before Installing.

Adjust for height and angle using the mobile jack and the transmission fixture.
Align the transmission against the engine.
Ensure that the transmission is straight in relation to the engine. Ensure that the guide pins align with the guide holes in the transmission.

Installing and tightening screws for the transmission

Fit the screws, 6 pcs. M10, to the transmission/engine.
First tighten alternately and crosswise to light contact.
At the same time, check that the whole of the gearbox is in contact with the engine.
Tighten.
Remove the fixture from the transmission.

Installing engine mounting

Install the mounting for the transaxle. Use 3 x M10 screws. Tighten.

Lifting the engine and the transmission

Lift the engine/transmission. Align the mounting against the transmission in the engine pad.
Install the M14 screw for the engine mount. Tighten. See Specifications. Tightening Torque.
Remove the lifting beams and the lifting hook.

Installing the screws in the transmission / engine

Install:
- the 4 M10 screws for the transmission and engine. Tighten
- the starter motor. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.

Installing the bracket

Note! Ensure that the transaxle bleed hose does not get trapped or bent and is secured in its holder.

Install:
- the electrical connector for the transaxle
- the bracket holder
- the bracket and the coolant hose.

Installing the gear selector cable

Note! Make sure that the cable and casing do not crack or break.

Install:
- the oil line to the transaxle cover
- the gear selector cable on the bracket and the lever.
Adjust the gear selector cable according to: Gear selector cable, adjusting, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN Adjustments.

Installing the air cleaner (ACL) module

Install the air cleaner (ACL) module. Service and Repair

Fitting the torque converter screws.

Note! Use new screws.

Align the torque converter against the carrier plate. Do this by turning the engine with the nut for the crankshaft pulley and turning the torque converter.
Install all 6 x screws loosely. Tighten the screws. Tighten until the heads are almost in contact with the flexplate. Tighten. See Specifications. Tightening Torque. Use a Torx-wrench 50.

Note! Remove the socket wrench from the crankshaft.

Installing the oil line

Place a container underneath the gearbox.

Install:
- the oil line. Use a new O-ring. Tighten. See Specifications. Tightening Torque
- the ground lead on the transmission
- the torque rod mounting to the transmission, 3 x M10. Tighten.

Installing the charge air pipe

Install the charge air pipe under the engine.

Installing the sub-frame

Secure the sub-frame against the fixture plate using a retaining strap.
Lift the sub-frame. Align the sub-frame in the front mountings in the side members. Install the screws loosely, 4-5 threads.
Allow the sub-frame to hang down at the rear edge and to rest on the mobile jack.
Remove the temporary mounting for the steering gear. Allow the steering gear to rest on the sub-frame.

Installing the anti-roll bar

Install the stabilizer bar. Use 4 x new M10 screws. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.

Securing the sub-frame
