Removal

Removing the exhaust system
Remove the exhaust system. See Final drive, replacing Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the propeller shaft
Remove the propeller shaft from the flange for Active On Demand Coupling. See Final drive, replacing Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the flange




Remove the nut for the flange. Use counterhold 999 5652 Counterh. 999 5652 Counterh. with adapter 999 7058 Adapter 999 7058 Adapter. Mark the flange in relation to the end of the shaft.
Position a container underneath the Active On Demand Coupling.
Remove the flange. If the flange is stuck on the shaft, use puller 999 5893 Puller 999 5893 Puller.




Check that the flange mating surface is free of defects. If not, replace the flange.

Removing the seal




Remove the seals from the Active On Demand Coupling. Use extractor 999 5069 EXTRACTOR 999 5069 Extractor.
Check thoroughly that no seal residue remains.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening Torque

Installing the seal




Lubricate the new seal using oil for the Active On Demand Coupling, P/N 116 1641 (1 liter pack).
Use drift 999 7025 Drift Haldex coupling 999 7025 Drift Haldex Coupling for installation. Tap the seal into place until the surface of the drift is against the housing for Active On Demand Coupling.

Installing the flange




Install the flange on the AOC (Active on Demand Coupling) using the previous markings (if using the old flange).
Install a new nut on the shaft - flange. Use counterhold 999 5652 Counterh. 999 5652 Counterh. with adapter 999 7058 Adapter 999 7058 Adapter.
Tighten. See Tightening Torque
Fill the AOC (Active On Demand Coupling) with oil. Check the oil level. See Active On Demand Coupling (AOC), replacing Active On Demand Coupling (AOC), Replacing.

Installing the propeller shaft
Install the propeller shaft. See Final Drive, Replacing.

Installing the exhaust system
Install the exhaust system. See Final Drive, Replacing.
