Active on Demand Coupling (AOC), replacing

Preparatory work

Removing components
Remove the exhaust system. Remove the propeller shaft from the active on demand coupling (AOC). See: Final Drive, Replacing

Removal

Removing the Active on Demand Coupling




Remove the connector from the Differential Electronic Module (DEM).
Place a container under the active on demand coupling (AOC)/final drive.
Remove the screws for the active on demand coupling (AOC).
Pull the coupling straight out from the final drive housing.

Installation

Preparations for installing the Active on Demand Coupling (AOC)




Clean away any contaminants in the final drive housing. There must be no residue left from cloths or paper.
Check that the mating surface is free of faults.




Check that the mating surface of the active on demand coupling (AOC) is free of faults. Position the new O-ring on the active on demand coupling (AOC).

Installing the Active on Demand Coupling (AOC)




Install the active on demand coupling (AOC) for the final drive housing.
Lightly install the 4 x M8 screws alternately. Tighten alternately.
Connect the connector for the Differential Electronic Module (DEM).

Installing the propeller shaft and exhaust system
Install the propeller shaft and the exhaust system. See: Final drive, replacing Final Drive, Replacing.

Finishing

Filling and checking the oil level




Top up and check the oil level in the active on demand coupling (AOC).
Use oil. See: Oil Pump Active On Demand Coupling (AOC), Replacing
Tighten the level plug according to: Oil Pump Active On Demand Coupling (AOC), Replacing
