Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Accumulator / receiver drier, replacing

Note! Chassis number limit, see below:

S60 with chassis no. from and including 471445, see: Receiver drier, replacing Receiver/Drier, Replacing.

S80 with chassis no. from and including 409455, see applicable procedure.

V70 manufactured in Sweden (factory code: 1) with chassis no. from and including 506584 and V70 manufactured in Belgium (factory code: 2) with chassis no. from and including 505663, see applicable procedure.

XC70 with chassis no. from and including 195820 see applicable procedure.

Removal

Removing the drier




Remove the condenser. See Condenser, replacing Service and Repair.

Remove:
- the intermediate pipe according to: Pipe receiver drier, replacing Pipe Receiver Drier, Replacing
- the pipe coupling from the condenser
- the screw for the bracket
- the drier / receiver.

Installing the receiver drier

Note! Always use new O-rings lubricated with compressor oil.

Position the receiver / dryer on the bracket and mount the pipe from the condenser.
Thread in the screw for the bracket.
Tighten the screw for the condenser-receiver/dryer's pipe coupling.
Tighten to 10 Nm
Tighten the screw for the bracket.
Tightening torque 25 Nm
Install the condenser according to: Condenser, replacing Service and Repair.
