Preparations




- Get measurement tool set 999 5418 Measuring kit 999 5418 Measuring Kit.
Front: Remove brake caliper from caliper mounting as per Brake pads front, replacement Brake Pads Front, Replacement , then continue as below.
Rear: Remove brake caliper from rear axle, see Brake disc rear, replacement Brake Disc Rear, Replacement , then continue as below.

Installing clamp ring




Hubs with four wheel bolts: Install clamp ring 999 5442 CLAMPING RING 999 5442 Clamping Ring on hub with wheel nuts.
Hubs with five wheel bolts:
- Install clamp ring 999 5419 from measurement tool set 999 5418 Measuring kit 999 5418 Measuring Kit on hub with wheel nuts.
- Make sure that contact surfaces on brake disc and clamp ring are clean.
- Tighten bolts hand tight, then tighten across to 110 Nm (80 ft.lb). When tightening with airgun, use torque socket 115 8147 TORQUE SOCKET 1/2" 19 MM 115 8147 Torque Socket 1/2" 19 mm.

Installing test equipment




Install measurement tool set bracket. Front: Attach bracket to caliper mounting with mounting bolts from bolt set 999 5507 SCREW SET 999 5507 Screw Set.
Rear: Attach bracket to brake caliper mounting lugs with bolts from measurement tool set 999 5418 Measuring kit 999 5418 Measuring Kit.
Brake disc maximum lateral run-out must not exceed 0.040 mm (0.0016") (brake disc front) or 0.080 mm (0.0031") (brake disc rear).
- Remove test equipment.
- If brake disc maximum lateral run-out is out of limits, it must be returned, if you have a turning tool available, or be replaced. Replacement procedure as per Brake disc front, replacement Brake Disc Front, Replacement or Brake disc rear, replacement Brake Disc Rear, Replacement.

- Go to Front brake pads, replacement Brake Pads Front, Replacement or Rear brake pads, replacement Brake Pads Rear, Replacement.
