Fluid Pan: Service and Repair






Transmission Fluid Pan

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip Tray (V.A.G 1306)

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation for the transmission.

- Place the drip tray (V.A.G 1306) underneath.

- Remove the plug - A -.

- Unscrew the overflow tube - C -.






- Drain the transmission fluid.

- Remove the pan bolts diagonally and remove the pan - 2 -.






Installing

- Clean all magnets in the pan recesses. Make sure the magnets touch the pan completely.

- Install the pan with a new gasket - 1 -.






- Make sure all the spacer sleeves - 2 - are completely within the new gasket - 1 -.

- Tighten the pan bolts diagonally and in several steps.

- Install the overflow tube - C -.






- Install the plug - A -.

- After installation, fill with transmission fluid and check the fluid level, add if necessary. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] ATF Level, Checking and Filling.
