Engine and Transmission Mount, Adjusting
Procedure
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to clearance issues:
• Route all wires and lines so that the original path is followed.
• Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
- Hold the engine in its installed position. Refer to => [ Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position ] Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position.
• The subframe bolts may only be loosened when the engine is supported using the engine support bridge (10-222 A).
- Replace the engine mount to engine mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if not already done) and tighten them by hand.
- Replace the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if not already done) and tighten them by hand.
- Loosen the bolts for the engine and transmission mounts approximately 2 turns.
Engine Mount
• There must be a distance of at least 10 mm - a - between the engine mount bracket and right longitudinal member.
• The casting edge on the engine mount bracket - 2 - must be parallel to the engine mount support arm - 1 -.
Transmission Mount
- The edges of the transmission mount support arm - 1 - and the transmission mount - 2 - are parallel.
• Dimension - x - is the same size on both sides of the mount.
- Tighten the engine and transmission mount bolts.
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications ] Engine Assembly - Fastener Tightening Specifications.
Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
• Make sure the fuel lines are securely fastened.
• Do not interchange the supply and return lines (the return line is blue or with a blue mark, the supply line is black).
- Observe the safety precautions after connecting the battery.
